Modeling and searching for rings and moons in exoplanetary systems

Mario has a doctorate in physics from the University of Antioquia (Colombia). His research has focused on various aspects of the formation, evolution and detectability of moons and rings of distant planetary systems, and has led to the proposal of possible explanations for some phenomena classified as strange in the framework of the exploration of exoplanets.

He has participated in projects related to the strange behavior of Tabby’s star, the unusual light curves of low-density planets, the “absence” of clear evidence of exomoons and exorings, the emergence of “ploonets”, planetary cataclysms and detection of giant exocomets.
